A strategy to avoid poverty.

Our developing world has witnessed fast reductions of rural poverty in recent decades but the poorest are still at risk of being left behind. Poverty and inequities hurt all of us in the long run. A successful strategy of poverty reduction must have its core measures to promote rapid and sustained economic growth. The challenge for policy is to combine growth-promoting policies with policies that allow the poor to participate fully in the opportunities and list and so contribute to the growth. So economic growth is the most effective way to pull people out of poverty and deliver on their objectives for a better life.
